The Harem Club Milano and the Maison de l'Amour Milano are the most well-known and popular clubs in Milan. I've already covered them extensively, respectively, but it's time to update my reviews based on significant management and structural changes.
They are both clubs with wellness areas, a restaurant, open summer areas, and a playroom. The Harem also has a nightclub.
I start with the indoor wellness area; in terms of services, the Maison wins, but only by a small margin, as both spas are very beautiful, spacious, and clean. It should be noted, however, that the Maison's spa is defined by its managers as "naturist," and therefore sexual contact is not permitted, even outside the pools. This aspect is crucial in the overall and comparative evaluation of the entertainment offered by the clubs.
The Maison's restaurant deserves this title; the Harem also offers a rich buffet. The venue on Via Monza wins hands down.
There's no comparison when it comes to the outdoor area. L'Harem trumps its rivals in terms of amenities, including two ambient-temperature pools. The spacious spaces are sunny all day, and there's also a very attractive solarium on the terrace. Not content with this, the venue's managers began a major renovation of the outdoor area a few weeks ago, the final outcome of which will be revealed in June. The outdoor area of the Maison is small, poorly oriented, and only the whirlpool is truly worthwhile. It also suffers from the same issues as the spa regarding restrictions on sex.
Regarding the playrooms, here too, the Harem takes the cake without a doubt. I believe this venue has the two most beautiful playrooms in Italy; spread across two floors, the spacious rooms offer every type of entertainment imaginable, from cinemas to glory holes, cage zones where you can isolate yourself but not hide, and a small area reserved for couples. Only on this last point is the Cologno playroom surpassed by the couples' room at the Olimpo in Rome, which in my opinion is the best in our country. The Maison can't compete with its playroom, which is less than a third the size of its competitor's, organized into lounges and smaller rooms and a small screening area.
Overall, Harem seems to be a winner. It should be noted, however, that some fortunate decisions (even if I don't agree with them) have meant that Maison is more popular than its rival, except on Saturday evenings. Maison, generally speaking, is more popular with couples who don't like singles. The atmosphere is more relaxing but less erotic, to the point of not even feeling like a private club. The fact that sex isn't allowed in the wet or open areas causes those who visit a private club to concentrate their motivations in the area above the playrooms, which is actually inadequate and much less attractive than the downstairs area, which the club has instead invested in; furthermore, singles congregate upstairs, pressed against the walls, waiting for prey, and they rush off in a train as soon as someone comes up. To compensate for this, Maison has dedicated two days a week (a fixed Wednesday and alternating Saturday and Sunday) to couples only, and the success has been truly enormous. The Harem offers more all-round fun; you can have sex anywhere except in the water, and the playroom is ten times more stimulating than its competitor. It must be said, however, that on weekend evenings, the influx of singles is heavy, despite the many couples present. In the summer, the Harem wins hands down, as I've already mentioned above.
I'll conclude by saying that we're talking about the best the world of swinger clubs has to offer. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with Harem, which is more private and has friendlier staff; it exudes the air of transgression that comes from a club run by our club, compared to the uninvolved swinging management of Maison. If I were to bring a new partner to discover this scene, however, I'd prefer Maison, which, by heavily penalizing singles, offers a more relaxed atmosphere, even on weekends.
The best option would be a Harem with fewer singles or a more transgressive and liberal Maison. It's not easy to address the former without further raising already very high prices; it's easier to deregulate Maison and turn it into a fully-fledged private club, but the will is lacking in the mistaken belief that the club's success is due to those restrictive choices and not—as I'm convinced—to the fact that it has better segmented its clientele with the two couples-only days.
