With the Venus Star Resort we have completed the picture of the reviews of the nudist-swinger style welcome in Gran Canaria. The choice of the period including the end of the year was also motivated to have a complete picture of the entire Canarian season and to assess its turnout and climatic pleasantness. The "Star" is the largest and most expensive thematic resort in the Canary Islands, in fact the old Venus has 12 bungalows, Le Mirage is about thirty while this has 45, a significant number that - in fact - doubles the swinger welcome in the island. The summary judgment is that it is a beautiful and essential structure, although with defects, the main one of which is the management, which is currently unsatisfactory. We would never have expected this last consideration, given that it is the same as the Venus Resort we have discussed extensively HERE, therefore these are people with important experience in swinger hospitality. The strong point is the frequentation, unquestionably better than the competition. Starting precisely from the structure, it must be said that the main lack is a covered playroom; the one by the pool is unusable for climatic reasons, as well as being excessively exposed and therefore not guaranteeing the necessary privacy. A further flaw is the quality of the materials used in the furnishings, to the point that three months after the opening of the resort, almost all the comfortable sun loungers are badly damaged, the door locks work badly, and even the showers suffer from major problems. It is significant that an adequate hairdryer has not been provided for a user who is attentive to the look. The covered restaurant also has no heating which - fortunately - is available in the bungalows and is very useful in winter. For the rest, the visual impact is discreet even if essential, so the old Venus is more welcoming even in the colors. The second and most important criticism concerns the management, we are amazed by the fact that despite the numerous requests and protests they have decided to keep the temperature of the whirlpool (which is beautiful) at 31 degrees, making it unusable for most of the day and completely useless. overnight. The mousse party they have twice a week is impossible to enjoy due to the coolness and the absence of a warm refreshment at the end of the game. The restaurant was also not very functional, too exposed to the north even during the day with little availability of seats on the terrace where the little sun beats down. In particular, we attended the very expensive party organized by the resort which proved to be a real disaster. The environment was very cold and the ladies suffered all evening; food bordering on edibility; the drinks for a fee and the promised party with music was not there, forcing us all to leave around 1 PM to continue in the clubs in the area. Despite these gaps, however, it must be said that the attendance was considerable: many more couples of appropriate age to the swinger world (35-50) and even younger. Twice a week they organize the barbacoa accepting people from the outside, also catalyzing couples of an average level higher than the Canary context even if the supply of beds in those cases is insufficient. As a rule, the Star like its peers is frequented by people from northern Europe, 5/6 Italian couples who are very interesting. The "movement" is a little bit, like at Le Mirage, a lot less than the old Venus which also has the hottest pool and covered playroom. As in the aforementioned structures, everyone is out in the evening. Would we go back? I don't know ... compared to the service the 135 euros a day are a little excessive, perhaps it is better to go and sunbathe on the paid days, avoiding those with barbacoa because they are too expensive.
